Finding Sedation For Your Needs

September 15, 2014

Stepping into the dental office is enough to make most people nervous, but it’s more than enough to make others terrified. With various levels of anxiety, we offer various levels of sedation so that every patient can feel comfortable with the sedation we have to offer. We’ve put together a list of levels of anxiety and which sedation would work best for that situation so that you have an idea of what to expect from your dental experience.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation – The lowest level of sedation we offer is nitrous oxide, often known as laughing gas. This type of sedation is perfect for patients with mild anxiety who just need a little something to calm their nerves.

Oral Sedation – For patients with moderate anxiety, an oral sedative is perfect. Patients can take the sedative before they leave their home and feel completely relaxed by the time they reach the office.

IV Sedation – This form of sedation is reserved for patients with severe dental anxiety or those undergoing complex dental work. IV sedation will relax you to the point of sleep and allows us to get plenty of work done in a short amount of time.

Set yourself up for fantastic dental care by creating a relaxing environment for yourself. Let us know about your nerves, and we’ll let you know what’s available to you! Contact us today to set up an appointment. We can’t wait to show you how relaxing dental care can be.
