Quick Restoration using CEREC Crowns

July 26, 2014

In order to provide you with an immediate solution to damaged teeth, Dr. Doug Forbes invests in hi-tech equipment that produces quality dental crowns in an instant. With the use of CEramic REConstruction or CEREC, you can get a smile makeover at Total Dental Care of South Carolina.

About CEREC crowns

The CAD/CAM (computer-aided/computer manufacturing) equipment is used to design and create porcelain crowns. Crowns milled from CEREC are made from metal-free materials, which are better fitting, sturdy, and long lasting.

CEREC crowns are effective solution for various dental issues. The caps can restore cracked or broken teeth, protect weak teeth, support a dental bridge, cover an implant, and improve your smile.

The restoration is ideal for patients like you who are looking for a quick fix for your teeth.
A consultation with your South Carolina will determine your suitability for the treatment.

The procedure

On your scheduled appointment, your dentist will explain the process in restoring your teeth with CEREC crowns. To determine if this is the best option for you, an examination of your teeth will taken. Upon confirmation, he’ll proceed with the actual procedure.

A local anesthetic will be administered to make you at ease during the procedure. Using a digital scanner, the dentist will take impressions of your teeth. The obtained images will be entered into the computer system. Based on the 3D images of your teeth, he’ll create a virtual model of your teeth. The completed design will be transmitted to the onsite-milling unit for fabrication. In just a few minutes, the custom-made crowns will be fitted and bonded to your teeth. You’ll be happy with the results.
