Celebrate Your Smile!

stephenlega • June 27, 2018

In a few days, we will celebrate our nation’s birthday on the 4th of July.

Whether you host a cookout at home, spend the day on the water, plan to spend a day at the ballpark watching the Fireflies game, or settle in to watch fireworks that evening, we hope you make happy memories with the people you love that day.

And not to sound like a song … but if you’re happy and you know it, we hope your face with surely show it!

If you don’t like something about your teeth, however, it can be difficult to express the joy you experience in everyday situations. When you become self-conscious about your smile, it can keep you from enjoying those moments with family and friends.

At Total Dental Care of South Columbia, we can give you a new reason to smile again! Call  803-272-4162  today to schedule a consultation at our Columbia, SC dental office. Find out how we can help you feel better about sharing your great smile.

You Deserve to be Happy

It makes us sad when our patients can’t smile. We don’t say this lightly.

Several patients have visited us over the years who felt embarrassed or even ashamed about the appearance of their teeth. We don’t judge anyone based on their smiles at our office. Yet, your self-perception can have a huge impact on how you live your life for better or for worse.

When you feel like you can’t let anyone see your teeth, it can change how you behave in everyday situations.

Do you feel the need to hide your teeth whenever you speak or laugh? Perhaps you hold up your hand before you say something, or you look down when you talk so the person you are talking to can’t get a direct view of your mouth.

Do you make an attempt to avoid smiling? If you, then you can come across as unhappy to the people around you. If you aren’t willing to let people see you smile, they may reach a conclusion that you aren’t pleasant to be around. That can’t affect you in your professional and personal relationships.

No one is happy every moment of every day, but when you are full of joy, you should be able to share that with people around you. You have probably been in a situation where you weren’t having a great day, but someone else’s happiness lifted your spirits.

You could do that for someone else, but only if you are willing to share your smile with them.

Ways You Can Transform Your Teeth

We won’t attempt to list every way you can change your smile in this post, but here are some of the most common changes people make:

• Whiten your smile — You can do this with professional teeth whitening or dental veneers. Both of which we offer at our practice.

• Fix broken teeth — How you do this could include dental bonding, veneers, or our same-day dental crowns.

•  Straighten your teeth — This will take more time than whitening or fixing your smile, but you can do this in less time than traditional braces with our Fastbraces® option.

Today is the Day to Take Charge of Your Smile
