Change Your Smile Simply With Veneers

stephenlega • April 18, 2016

Since you are on a computer, smartphone, or tablet, open a recent picture of yourself.

Are you smiling? If so, take a close look at your teeth.

If you aren’t smiling, is it because of your teeth?

Either way, try to imagine that photo with you flashing a perfect “Hollywood” smile. Think that is impossible?

Well, you might be surprised. A Hollywood smile could be closer than you think if you live in or near Columbia, SC. You are close to a dentist who offers veneers at Total Dental Care of South Carolina.

Not Just For Celebrities

When we go to the movies, turn on our televisions, or flip through celebrity magazines, we are bombarded with images of people with perfect teeth.

We are willing to bet that you know some people with great smiles, but do you know anyone with absolutely perfect teeth?

If you do, you should know how rare that is. If you don’t, then you shouldn’t be surprised.

It’s a pretty open secret that many actors, musicians, and famous personalities have turned to cosmetic dentistry to improve their smiles for the sake of their careers.

But you don’t have to spend your life in front of a camera to benefit — personally and professionally — from having a better smile.

In a survey conducted by Kelton Research, people said people with bad smiles were considered less confident. Three out of four people also said a bad smile can hurt someone’s career prospects.

Is your smile sending the message that you are confident and successful?

How Veneers Can Help

If you would like to change something about your smile, veneers may the simplest and fastest way to improve your teeth.

If you want whiter teeth, veneers can make that happen.

If you want straighter teeth, veneers can make that happen, too.

If you to close the gaps between your teeth or even out the spacing between crowded teeth, veneers can fix that, too.

Veneers also can correct teeth that are broken, chipped or worn down.

And if you have more than one issue that you would like to fix, then veneers can make all those changes simultaneously.

Porcelain Veneers

Patients who come to our office have the option of receiving porcelain veneers .

Why do dentists use porcelain?

From a cosmetic standpoint, porcelain looks lifelike when compared to natural teeth. Porcelain has the same kind of shine and reflective quality as real teeth.

In order for that to matter, porcelain also needs to be durable, too, and it is. Porcelain veneers can last for decades with proper care and maintenance.

Placing veneers is generally a two-step process.

During your first visit, we will need to prepare your teeth to accept your porcelain veneers. We do this by removing some of the enamel on your teeth.

After this is done, we will make an impression of your teeth. This impression is sent to the lab along with the design for your veneers.

This way your veneers will be perfectly created to fit over your teeth. While you wait, we can provide you with temporary veneers to wear.

You will return to our office when your porcelain veneers are ready. After checking the fit, our dentist will bond your veneers in place.

When you see your new smile in the mirror, you’ll understand how much of a difference porcelain veneers can make.

Lumineers

Some patients don’t like the preparation that is part of getting porcelain veneers. Some patients want to know that their teeth will still be intact if they change their minds about their veneers somewhere down the road.

For those patients, we recommend Lumineers .

Lumineers are the thinnest veneers available today. Because they are so thin, we usually don’t need to do anything before making your impressions.

Your Lumineers veneers are made at a lab, and just like our porcelain veneers, we bond the Lumineers to your teeth when they are ready.

We think you’ll be pleased with your new smile once your Lumineers are bonded in place. If you decide you want to have them removed later, you can be confident knowing that your protective enamel is still in place.
