Feel Great About Your Strong Teeth in 2019

stephenlega • January 1, 2019

Your teeth should do more than give you a smile.

Your teeth should do what they were meant to do. That means allowing you to bite and chew easily and comfortably. If you are struggling because of damaged teeth, missing teeth, or loose-fitting dentures, don’t wait any longer to restore the full use of your mouth.

Contact Dr. Doug Forbes at Total Dental Care in Columbia, SC. Schedule a consultation to learn about our full-mouth reconstruction , which could make a significant improvement in your quality of life.

Start with a Solid Foundation

To build a building, engineers want a solid foundation to support what will be on top. Something similar could be said about a healthy smile.

To (re)build what’s been lost, you need a healthy foundation to support your dental restorations. If you have decayed or infected teeth, it may be possible to preserve your roots and replace the crowns of your damaged teeth. A root canal is the best option for removing the infected tissue from your tooth. This can be done painlessly with help from dental sedation.

When that is finished, you can restore the appearance and the use of your tooth with a CEREC dental crown. We also use CEREC crowns to repair decayed, cracked, and broken teeth. We can make your crown in our office and place in as little as a few hours with our in-house milling machine.

If you are missing teeth, however, you don’t have roots to support your bridge or dentures. That’s when you need something else to replace your roots and add stability to your restorations. It’s the reason we recommend dental implants in these situations.

You can and should think of implants as artificial roots. They can secure your replacement teeth so they feel and function as well as (and possibly better than, in some cases) your natural teeth.

Enjoy the Benefits of Complete, Healthy Smile

When you are missing teeth, it affects your physical and your emotional health.

Without a full set of healthy teeth, you may not be able to eat a variety of healthy foods. That can affect your overall health, which can take a toll on your ability to do the things that you want to do.

When you are missing teeth or have teeth that are visibly damaged, you can feel self-conscious about your teeth. That can make you hesitant to share your smile when meeting people. It can even affect how willing you are to meet family and friends, much less someone new, for social get-togethers.

By repairing your smile, you can feel comfortable dining out, going on a date, or scheduling an interview for that new job you would like.

Don’t Let Your Teeth Hold You Back

If your teeth have become an obstacle to your daily life in any way, then you owe it to yourself to talk to Dr. Forbes about full-mouth reconstruction. You can renew your smile and strengthen your teeth at the same time.
