Get Your Dental Crown Faster with CEREC

stephenlega • September 1, 2018

If you’ve ever been to Darlington on race day, then you know how amazing it is to watch a pit crew change tires, refuel, and get the car back into the thick of in seconds.

We can’t fix your dental problem quite that fast, but we do our best to restore teeth so our patients can return to their normal lives without pain or embarrassment. One of the ways we do that is with our CEREC same-day dental crowns .

With CEREC, you could have a new tooth in a few hours. If you’ve ever had a crown somewhere else, then you know the old way of fixing a tooth can require multiple dental visits separated by weeks.

At Total Dental Care in Columbia, SC, you can save time while you are saving your smile. Call  803-272-4162  now to get your crown sooner.

How It Works

Let’s imagine you were out in the yard tossing a football before the season opener for your favorite college team. Someone calls your name as they drive past your house. You turn your head to see who it is and wave and — WHAM — the football smacks you in the mouth.

One of your teeth is broken.

When you come to visit us, we’ll scan your mouth. This will help us design a crown that matches the rest of your smile. That computer-aided design will be sent to our in-office milling machine. A piece of ceramic will be reshaped to create a natural-looking and durable crown.

While that’s happening, we can reshape your tooth so what’s left is strong, healthy tissue. This will provide support for your crown when it is bonded in place.

When you leave, you’ll have a crown that fits in with the rest of your smile and lets you eat the tail-gating foods that you love for the rest of the season.

When You Might Need a Crown

In our example, we described repairing a broken tooth with one of our same-day crowns. That’s just one of the reasons you may want to get one.

Dental crowns also can be used to fix:

  • Cracked teeth
  • Decayed teeth
  • Teeth that have been refilled multiple times
  • Worn-down teeth

Crowns also can be used to correct cosmetic concerns such as discolored, misshapen, or short teeth.

Last but not least, our CEREC crowns can be used as part of a replacement for a tooth that has fallen out, been knocked out, or needs to be removed. When placed on a dental implant (which replaces the root of the missing), you have a complete tooth replacement that looks, feels, and functions as well as the real thing.

Repair Your Tooth Faster

We live in a world where you can get fast food and speedy oil changes for your car or truck. You should be able to fix a tooth in little time, too.

Don’t wait another day. If you have a damaged tooth, Dr. Forbes and the Total Dental Care team wants to fix it for you. Call 803-272-4162 or contact us online to make an appointment.
